A Tribute To The Life, Art & Inspiration of Ed "Big Daddy" Roth

Every year, Moldy Marvin of Kulture Shock Studios puts on his Rat Fink Party and Kustom Kulture Extravaganza. The focus of this event is to celebrate the life and work of Ed Roth, and do so in a way that involves the entire family. This year was no different.

Though the venue was new, the party provided car culture enthusiasts with one solid day of great cars, good music, and a great vibe. The venue split the car show registrants into only one area - this party was held allways at San Fernando Valley - was canceled by the lack of sponsors. But a quickly decision of Obvio !´s Crew to sponsor the event was defined with Moldy Marvin and the party was postponed to 9th. of July, now at Los Angeles County Raceway , between Littlerock and Palmdale - Antelope Valley, near Mojave Desert.

This "Rat Fink" event is "unique".The music this year was very nice, who played their usual mixture of old favorites, and danceable rockabilly originals. For spectators, the show was free, and allowed folks the opportunity to see a few hundred great rods and customs, as well as shop vendors selling everything from carved wooden Tiki heads and pinstriped ashtrays to hot rod and vintage clothing. in a great "vibe" and be continued later at Moldy´s house in a Barbecue "Only for Directors" , who considered this party as the best made untill now.

At the entrance, the show starts: hot rods, muscle cars, dragsters, Volkswagens, motorcycles, bicycles and trikes was aligned to the entrance gate. Music and tattoo and model-car contests are also part of the even. tThe charity art auction who benefit the Michael Hoefflin Foundation for Children's Cancer was a success.

Dozens and dozens of hot rods, muscle cars, Volkswagens, motorcycles, bicycles

and trikes was displayed from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m..

"The Rat Fink party was phenomenal this year! The guys not only show their vehicles, but they race them" organizer "Moldy" Marvin said - with some cars speeding more than 220 miles !!!!! We have more than 2.500 visitors and more of 250 cars...

In the same ambient a grid for cars racings - aligned side by side, burning tires with V-eights high screamings - and at the same time the delicious sounds of rockabilly and surf music played at live stage with the groups from "Three on the Three": "The Detonators"; "The Southerners"; "Deadbillys" e "Dany Dean & The Homewreckers".
